Oak Grove Cemetery Presents "Gone But Not Forgotten"
Conway's historic Oak Grove Cemetery has scheduled its “Gone But Not Forgotten” event where local actors prepare monologues portraying famous people from Conway. This year the focus will be on famous politicians. The event will be held on Sunday, October 26, 2025 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at the cemetery.
This will be a come-and-go event, with tours beginning at 2:00 and ending at 4:00. Tour guides will lead you from gravesite to gravesite to listen as the actors tell you about these important politicians from our community.
- Asa P. Robinson, the founder of Conway, will be portrayed by Keith Coker
- Walter Dunaway, former Conway Mayor, will be portrayed by George Mayo
- “Justice” Jim Johnson will be portrayed by Stephen Cohen and his wife Virginia, the first woman to run for Governor of Arkansas, will be portrayed by Sarah Coker
- The infamous former State Senator Guy “Mutt” Jones will be portrayed by H. G. Foster
- Bette Moseley, the first woman to serve as Faulkner County Democratic Chair and the first female Arkansas Delegate to the Democratic Presidential Convention, will by portrayed by Liz Parker

Oak Grove Cemetery is located at 305 Bruce Street, Conway, AR 72032. We hope you will be able to join us as we honor these famous politicians of Conway's history. In case of inclement weather, the event will be moved to the First United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall at 1610 Clifton Street. Donations will be accepted and greatly appreciated.
